Dr. V. Leah Johnson is a Partner Physician at AWS. She is also an Atlanta native who enjoys baking and spending time with her family and friends.

Dr. Leah Johnson believes she has the best job because it's never the same day twice.

A diverse group of patients with a wide array of healthcare needs keeps her work interesting. Dr. Johnson may perform surgery, deliver a baby and advise a patient entering menopause...all in the same day.

Dr. Johnson says her patients appreciate her surgical skills and bedside manner. She believes she is a doctor who listens and gives straightforward and honest answers to healthcare questions. "I respect patient autonomy," says Dr. Johnson. "Patients have the right to weigh all the options and make an educated decision."

Patient education is very important to Dr. Johnson, and she encourages her patients to seek out information about their own health. She helps them discern between good information and sensationalism.

"People want to learn about their health, about symptoms they may be having, and they have questions about things they've read or heard," says Dr. Johnson.

Dr. Johnson says the use of technology to give patients electronic access to their doctors, nurses and records sets AWS apart from other practices. She also says AWS is a fun group.

"This is a group of doctors I would go to," says Dr. Johnson.
